Version 1.0.3 submitted to App Store

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Yup, yet another update has been submitted to the app store.  Here are the changes:

- NEW: More robust units support allows you to change the units for specific variables.  Great for international users.
- NEW: 16 new equations!

  • Aortic Valve Area (Continuity)
  • Aortic Valve Area (Gordon)
  • Arterial Oxygen Content
  • Arterial Oxygen Delivery
  • Body Surface Area (Unknown Height; Current Formula)
  • CURB-65 Score for Community Acquired Pneumonia
  • Heart Rate from EKG
  • IV Drip Rate
  • Mini-Mental Status Exam (MMSE)
  • Number Needed to Treat (NNT)
  • Oxygen Index
  • P/F Ratio
  • Pregnancy Calculator (enter LMP or Due Date)
  • TIMI NSTEMI
  • TIMI STEMI
  • Urinary Calcium Excretion (Ca / Cr)

- CHANGED:  Fixed a bug in the corrected calcium formula, which only appeared when using SI units.
- CHANGED:  Fixed a minor bug in the corrected LDL formula, which only appeared when using SI units.
- CHANGED:  Added SI units for Corrected Phenytoin formula.
- CHANGED:  Ideal Body Weight will now show pounds when Units are set to US units.

As you can see, the biggest change is the ability to change the units for variables on the fly.  For example, if you want to use kg and cm for weight and height when calculating GFR, but you also want to use mmol/L for creatinine and sodium, you can now adjust the units accordingly.  This is a much requested feature from international users, so I’m proud to put it into this version.

Enjoy!
